Duane Garner- Executive Director

I have worked for CCPRD since June of 2000, and have called Prineville my home for over 21 years.  I have spent the majority of my career working in the Parks and Recreation Field, and I enjoy this wonderful friendly community.  I am blessed to be “Dad” to three boys, and three girls, and have been married to my lovely wife Sarah since 2002.  Some interests of mine include: participating on local boards; Chamber of Commerce, Crook County Foundation, Crook County Parks and Rec. Foundation, Redeemer Ministries Uganda.  I also enjoy playing the piano, as well as getting outside and exploring the many outdoor recreation opportunities that Central Oregon has to offer.  I am passionate about keeping our parks and open spaces beautiful and available for all to enjoy.  I also love people!  Your phone call or visit is always welcome.

Cassy Sykes- Business Manager

I have lived in Crook County for 11 years. I started working for Parks & Rec in May of 2016; I have an extensive background in the business and financial fields. Through working at Parks & Rec I enjoy being involved with the community. In my spare time I enjoy being outdoors doing such activities as hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing and camping; in the wintertime I like to be cuddled up in front of the fire with a good book.

Hannah Hamlin- Office Assistant

I have worked for Parks & Rec since June 2016 as a lifeguard and swim instructor at the swimming pool and manager at the skating rink, in September 2017 I became the office assistant at the main office. I have lived in Crook County for 15 years. I enjoy working for Parks & Rec for the exciting environment it offers, to help people sign up for classes and have worked with kids all of my life and enjoy being around them. I am currently seeking a degree in Business. I enjoy hiking, swimming, reading books and drawing.

Larry Penington- Parks Supervisor

I have worked for Parks & Rec since 2009; I was raised in Central Oregon and have lived in Crook County for 26 years. I enjoy working for Parks & Rec as I get to be outdoors; it’s a pleasure being responsible for our community’s beautiful parks and I get to work with fabulous people! In my spare time I enjoy hunting, spending time with family, hunting, watching football and hunting. I have raised my children in Prineville with Ochoco Creek Park as my backyard which was a blessing, now I get to share this blessing with my grandkids.

Bill Siers- Maintenance/Mechanic

I started working for Parks & Rec in 2016; I have lived in Crook County for 27 years. I enjoy working for Parks & Rec as it is a really nice environment to work in, the people are very friendly and great to work with; I get to help take care of places that are great to take your kids to. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family, woodworking, fixing broken things, spending time in the woods and at the lakes. I was born and raise in South Dakota, moved to Crook County in 1989; I love our community and feels it’s the best place in the world to raise kids.

Corey Lopez- Maintenance/Irrigation

I started working for Parks & Rec in 2016; I was born and raised in Crook County so I have a desire to be involved in the community and working for Parks & Rec allows me to do that. In my spare time I enjoy hunting, fishing, camping, reading and traveling.

Linda Sharp- Parks Maintenance

I have worked for Parks & Rec since 1989 in the maintenance department; I have lived in Crook County for 39 years. I love the variety of work that my job provides at Parks & Rec; I enjoy the outdoors and the work is rewarding with the compliments that we receive from the public. In my spare time I enjoy being outdoors, traveling, camping, riding ATVs, landscaping, building and creating things with wood, refurbishing old and worthy items, spending time with family and my life long love of photography. Prior to working on the maintenance crew for Parks & Rec, I was a life guard for 6 years and managed the swimming pool in 2000-2001 and also coached the Prineville Swim Team during that time.

Karen Smith- RV Park Manager

I have worked for Parks & Rec for 10 years at the RV Park and I was born and raised in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, I have lived here in Crook County for 10 years. I enjoy working for Parks & Rec at the RV Park as I get to meet people from far away places, build new friendships and enjoy our guests. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family, traveling, sewing and researching family history.

Kim Hatfield- RV Park Office Assistant

I have worked for Parks & Rec at the RV Park for 10 years; I have lived in Crook County for 12 years. I enjoy traveling, fishing, camping, spending every minute I can with my grandchildren; I love cooking and baking; I am a Hallmark and Lifetime movie nut so every chance I get to watch them I am cozied up with a blanket and watching!

Eli Tomlinson- Recreation Coordinator

I have lived in Crook County since March of 2015 and have worked for Parks and Rec since March of 2017. I grew up in Central California on my grandparents almond farm and lived there till 2010. I majored in Outdoor Leadership from Simpson University in Redding, CA, and just recently obtained my masters in Experiential Education from Minnesota State University, Mankato. I have worked in the outdoor and recreation industry for the past 9 years and guided for various organizations. I am excited to work for CCPRD and bring my recreation experience to Prineville. In my spare time I like to go on adventures with my wife Kayla and our two kids Gavin and Elsie. I enjoy cycling, hiking, rafting, climbing and making things out of wood. Matthew Vaughan- Sports Field Maintenance & Sports Coordinator

I was born and raised in Crook County. I enjoy working for Parks & Rec as I enjoy being involved in the community and helping provide kids with opportunities to develop skills and traits through sports that will help them to be successful in life; I think sports also provide a sense of unity and pride within our county that brings us closer together as a community which is why I love my job and consider it a privilege to be able to serve the community in this capacity. My interests including hunting, fishing, camping and pretty much anything to do with the outdoors. I love sports. I am a father of four and spend a lot of time coaching and chasing my kids around from one thing to the next and love every minute of it.
